About

Rivetway is a practical fleet and field operations platform for small and growing businesses. It brings jobs, drivers, vehicles, defects, breakdowns, timesheets, compliance, messaging and customer reporting into one system. I built it from the point of view of someone who actually does the job, with a driver app designed to work at 05:00 on a Monday morning, in the rain, in the dark and out in the field. Rivetway is currently in beta and is being developed around real feedback from transport and field-service businesses.

How it was vibe-coded

Rivetway has been built by me, a working HGV driver, using AI as a development partner rather than a replacement for the product decisions. I define the workflows, user experience, business rules and real-world requirements, then use ChatGPT and Codex to help with architecture, TypeScript development, Supabase, database security, debugging, testing and deployment. I test and steer the changes myself and keep refining the product around how drivers and office staff actually work. AI has allowed me to build a much larger product than I could have built alone with a traditional development approach.

I built Rivetway because I work in transport myself and got fed up seeing software that looks good in an office but becomes awkward when you’re actually trying to use it on the job. The aim is simple: make the office side powerful without making the driver side complicated. I’ve used AI heavily throughout the build, but the product decisions come from real working experience. I’d really like feedback on the usability, workflow and anything that feels unnecessarily complicated.
