About

Festival of AI is a one-day conference on 16 October 2026 at the National Space Centre in Leicester, built for people who want to stop talking about AI and start actually using it. It's deliberately practical rather than theoretical around 200 attendees pick between a Beginner and an Advanced track, watch live demonstrations, and leave with things they can apply the next morning. There's an optional extra day on 15 October for Workshop Ticket holders, who join a hands-on hackathon session hosted by Matthew Hughes and build something real in a small group. The website is where all of that lives: the speaker line-up, the full two-day agenda, venue and accommodation details, highlights from the 2025 event, and ticket sales, alongside a members' area where ticket holders access their purchases and session replays.

How it was vibe-coded

The site is a Next.js 16 application using the App Router with React 19 and TypeScript, styled with Tailwind CSS v4 and shadcn/ui components on Radix primitives, built with Turbopack and deployed on Vercel at festivalof.ai. Supabase provides Postgres, authentication and object storage, accessed through Server Components and server actions rather than a separate API layer, with a middleware proxy handling auth redirects and a role check gating the admin routes server-side. Content speakers, sessions, the agenda, homepage carousel and inbound form submissions is database-driven and editable through a built-in admin dashboard that also surfaces Google Analytics 4 data via the Data API. Integrations run server-side: Resend for transactional email, GoHighLevel for CRM contact sync, and a signed ThriveCart webhook that grants and revokes ticket entitlements on purchase, refund or chargeback. Analytics are GA4 plus a Meta pixel, both scoped to public routes so staff activity is excluded.
